Information About Marble Tile Color |
Introduction to Marble...
Marble is a natural product. It is a metamorphic rock that is mainly made up of calcium carbonate and is primarily limestone. Large pieces of rock are excavated and quarried all over the world. The earth’s surface also plays a big part to determine the streaking of colors in marble. Foreign materials in the earth’s core usually cause contamination. This also determines the streaking and clouding of colors in marble.
Marble is also highly prone to such things as acid and vinegar. If these products are spilt onto marble it can change the color of the tile instantly.
Marble Veining & Streaking

Marble tiles pavers vary in color due to the veining, streaking, and clouding. The most common color in marble tiles today is pure white streaked with a mixture of colors. These colors usually range from dusty pink, sage green, rusty red, gray, and mountain blue. Many colors can be streaked through marble tile pavers, crossing each other to create an elegant but unique paver.
The colors available today usually range from gray to white to off white, and generally containing streaking or veining throughout. This is why no marble tile paver will ever be identical in color. Unlike concrete pavers which are man made and can be produced in any color you may choose.
